. . . s t o r y t i m e . . .
Why hello, my friend! My name is Madisyn, I am 25 years old, & I live in Alberta, Canada. Growing up, I never learned the importance of healthy living (as I'm sure you can relate). Being young & heavily influenced by the pressures of society, I developed my own distorted understanding of what to eat & how to treat yourself. Before long, I became obsessed with my body & its appearance, which lead me to develop a Binge Eating Disorder. I have struggled with my relationship with food for most of my life, never feeling happy long term & never satisfied.
Food was not my friend, & I was constantly battling with my body & my obsessive thoughts, destroying my self esteem bit by bit. There have been so many times where I simply gave up on caring about my well being. After a couple of ugly years, I wound up meeting some outstanding individuals who I still cherish to this day. They helped me see a whole new way of living that involved compassion for all beings - including the self. These people thrived on a plant based diet. They were not my mentors, nor did they instruct me. They were my friends, & they showed me this new way of life simply by living through example. One day I decided to try it out for myself. Who knew that at that point my world would forever be changed.
That was over 4 years ago! I have been through my own ups & downs through the process of becoming vegan. I experienced many challenges, but they were only mental. Through my own research & education, I was able to conquer my Binge Eating Disorder for good. This was largely in part to home cooking nearly every meal, & learning the importance of whole, unprocessed plant foods in the diet. What might seem to be something of a chore - expensive & time consuming - has actually enabled me to manage time more effectively, save money, & eat delicious meals made with love.
This is where I stumbled upon The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. As a graduate of this school, I have been presented with innovative coaching methods, practical lifestyle management techniques, and over 100 different dietary theories - Ayurveda, Macrobiotics, gluten-free, blood type, raw... you name it! What stands out about this school's teaching methods is that it presents all the information that is out there & remains unbiased. That is to say, the school & myself understand that different health practices will work well on different people, as everyone lives unique lives that differ from other's. I have been trained & well equipped to hone in on your specific needs in order to find your own dazzling version of a vibrant way of living.
THE BEST PART?
Seeing the people I care about so much see what I do & have it instill such a great impact on their lives. Not because I had instructed them to, but because they too saw the vibrancy & clarity of this lifestyle, & decided to pick up a few things along their journey. If I can instill such a positive impact by living through example, imagine what could happen if we were to work together specifically for you to reach your goals! A few simple diet & lifestyle changes can go a long way, & it's what drives me to do what I do. My dream is to help wake up this vivacious energy in as many of you as I can. Are you ready to take the next step? I would love to hear from you! Message me today!
